Before anything, I cannot recommend “Gangnam Eyemedi Vision Center” ENOUGH!!. The result is beyond satisfactory thanks to great care from EYEMEDI FAMILY members. They are the only clinic that made my mid-school dream came true.

My eye prescription to start was -7.50 with -1.50 CYL,(something similar for both eyes) so I pretty much couldn’t see anything without glasses. Because my cornea thickness is comparatively thin, other eye clinics were telling me that I was not successful candidate for the procedure.

From my consultation right up til my post operation appointments, Eye Medi doctors, specialists and staffs were super professional and kind to me and treated me like their family. For all those concerned about effective communication: they are fluent in English, so don’t worry about any kind of language barrier. Keep it in mind that LASEK surgery takes some patience to see desired result. After thorough eye examination, the doctor will recommend you the most suitable procedure.

LASEK Procedure itself is painless because you get numbing drops. For me, I did not feel anxious at all since I felt confident with doctor Lee’s ability for sure. However, you may feel a little pressure and there is burning smell during the procedure and the liquid in the end is so cold that you may get brain freeze. Don’t be bothered by any of these, because your surgeon will talk you through what is happening so that you’ll be mentally prepared for what’s coming.

2 to 3days after operation: The pain is no joke, I kept using emergency eyedrops to releive my pain and painkiller tablets are not useful. This period of initial healing is the worst part of post-op lasek recovery. YOU can use painkilling eyedrops, but the effect lasts for around 30 minutes and you have to drop it over and over again.

1 month after operation- Right up til 1 months, eyes were dry and it was fluctuating a lot. Doctors were telling me it will get better and I was just patient, because I knew it would get better. BUT REMEMBER THAT MY CASE is SEVERE (High myopia/ extreme nearsightedness) IF your prescription is not that bad, chances are high that you will recover faster.

2 to 3 months after operation-My vision is stable and dry eye symptom is beginning to improve a lot. Now, all I have to do is wearing sunglasses to avoid harmful effects of sun exposure.

Also, I have my eyes checked once in a month and Eyemedi doctors check and safeguard my eye health.
